For me, FHWS is:
Further development
aving fun
Working on progress
olving challenges

What do you appreciate about FHWS?

The feeling of us being one big family, meeting students and lecturers from a whole variety of nationalities and age groups, the constructive collaboration and regular dialogue with staff at the Schweinfurt location and, last but not least, of course, my lovely colleagues at the Würzburg location.

What was the best decision in your professional career and why? What has changed since then?

That I applied to FHWS. I was dissatisfied with my previous occupation. I have developed both professionally and personally at the higher education institution through the many interesting encounters with students, professors and colleagues. I appreciate the variety of tasks and that I grow with every new challenge.

What do you think has shaped FHWS the most over the last 50 years?

The new building in Würzburg, internationalisation, new innovative degree programmes and projects, the expansion in Schweinfurt, the digitisation of the higher education institution and networking with regional companies.

What is your vision of the future for FHWS? What might FHWS look like in 50 years’ time?

Artificial intelligence and technology will significantly determine the future at the higher education institution. Robots will be integrated into everyday university life and give lectures or supervise exams. At some point, networking will no longer be regional, but international around the world.

What is your insider tip for the cities of Würzburg or Schweinfurt and why?

Klein Nizza in Ringpark – my favourite place in Würzburg, wonderful nature in every season in the middle of the city. The town festival, Kiliani, stylish little cafés and pubs, the vineyards. The Residenz with Hofgarten or enjoying the view over the city from the fortress, Käppele or Bismarck Tower.
