German as a Foreign Language
Students admitted to English-language bachelor’s degree programmes in engineering at FHWS are able to attend special courses at levels A1 and A2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (Basismodul Deutsch). Proficiency in German to level A2 is the minimum requirement for non-EU citizens to have their visa extended after their first year of studying and an admission requirement for our international degree programmes.
For intermediate and advanced learners, we offer courses at levels B1 and B2 (Aufbaumodul Deutsch), as well as levels C1 and C2 (Profimodul Deutsch).
We additionally offer an intensive course at level B2 (Aufbaumodul Deutsch intensiv) that allows you to learn German to level B2 within just a short time before the start of the winter semester. Upon completing this course, you will meet the language requirements to take a degree programme taught in German. However, please note that it is only worth taking the intensive B2 course if you are already proficient in German to level B1.
Please note that courses will only be offered if a minimum number of participants has signed up. Our staff will inform you about the course details and payment options.
