C1 - Courses
The C1 courses deepen your language skills and enable you to use the language competently.
If you have already learned English on your own or in another way and reach level B2 in a free placement test, the C1 course is just right for you.
Our teachers speak English in the course. They emphasize authentic and current topics related to study and work. They prepare you for the professional and social challenges in life.
The goal is for you to understand demanding topics and texts and to be able to act and speak in complex situations relevant to your studies and work.

C1 is a prerequisite for a TWIN certificate of the FHWS.
What else you should know!
Fees & Cancellation
Fees:
for FHWS students: 150,00€
for FHWS-student applicants with letter of admission: 150,00€
for FHWS applicants without letter of admission: 300,00€
for external course participants: 300,00€
Invoice:
The invoice will be sent to the email address used for registration 4-6 weeks after the beginning of the course.
Please pay on time to avoid further fees. (The deadline is stated in your invoice).
Payment is only possible by bank transfer. (Paypal or cash payment is not possible).
Tip: With a German or EU bank account you pay no service fees.
If you pay with a non-EU bank account, we ask you to add the conversion fees of the respective currency of the country when transferring the course fee.
Cancellation:
Cancellation is only possible within 14 days after your registration or up to 3 weeks before the beginning of the course.
Please use this cancellation form.
Please note that your registration is binding and you will have to pay the entire course fee if you do not cancel in time, even if you do not participate in the course.
Examination
In the end of the courses there will be a final exam consisting of four parts:

Exams are currently done online.
You will be informed by e-mail (4-6 weeks after the exam) about the exam results.
If you do not succeed in any part of the exam, you can retake it within two semesters free of charge.
If you cannot take the exam and provide a valid justification (e.g. medical certificate), you can retake the exam within two semesters free of charge.
If you are not enroled in an ongoing course, but you need a language certificate, you can enrol in a separate exam without attending any courses: Link to the form
Course material
You will be informed before the course about the course book.

In addition, materials will be provided on the Moodle platform FHWS E-Learning.
The access credentials and further information about the course will be given in class.
