FHWS Styleguides und Glossaries
The following styleguides and the English-German glossaries try to safeguard consistent writing in German or English in all FHWS publications or media. It enables uniform external communications. Additionally, it provides the reader with terms and their translation used at FHWS.
As a rule all English texts shall use the British variety of English. Deviations are only possible for valid reason. The FHWS Department of Public Affairs and Communications (HSK) asks to be informed if another variety of English is used and will try to consider this variety in its own publications, if possible.
If you would like to be informed of updates/changes to the style guide and/or glossary please write an e-mail to uebersetzungen[at]fhws.de. If you are missing certain terms/translations or a specific topic in the style guide, please do not hesitate to contact us via the same e-mail-address.
The German styleguide mainly uses the lists of spellings from the most important news agencies (in German only).
