Arriving at Schweinfurt Main Station, you can either take the “Campus Express” bus; during the lecture period (Monday to Friday) it departs every 20 minutes; first/last departure: 7:44/19:15; bus stop for FHWS: “FH/Friedrich-Eber-Straße Straße”.
Or you take bus 11 or 12 until their last stop “Roßmarkt” and change into bus 22 or 24 “Bellevue”. The bus stop for FHWS would then again be FH/Friedrich-Ebert-Straße. Follow Friedrich-Ebert-Straße and turn right into Konrad-Geiger-Straße. The building is now to the left.

In Konrad-Geiger-Straße, 97421 Schweinfurt, onstreet parking is available. There is a car-park at the corner Feldgasse/Seestraße. Five wheelchair-accessible parking spaces are available on FHWS grounds. Students with reduced mobility can apply for access to the FHWS car-park. It is secured by a barrier which can be opened by using a FHWS Card. The entrance to the FHWS car-park is on the rear of the building on Feldgasse.
Road surface and flooring
Pathways on Campus 2 are tarred or paved with composite stones. Access to the building is barrier-free. In the entrance area, in the hallways and lecture rooms, mainly linoleum is laid. The steps are protected against slipping by steel edges, but do not have any marking or additional tactile features.
Access to the building
Campus 2 has two entrances. The entrance on Konrad-Geiger-Straße cannot be opened automatically. To the left of the main entrance is an additional door with bell, which can be used. Barrier-free access is possible via an automatic door at the rear in the direction of Gabelsbergerstraße. The left door can be opened using a keypad. It is mounted on the left wall. For security reasons, the code to open the door is only printed inside the building below the keypad.
Staircases and lifts
Two staircases make it possible to move between floors E, 1, 2. Seminar and lecture rooms on Campus 2 are on Levels E and 1. The staircases have handrails, but do not offer Braille. The lift is located in the rear left part of the building near the vending machines. The lift moves to Levels -1, E, 1, 2. The lift’s passage width is 90 cm; it is equipped with Braille.

Escape and rescue plans are displayed at central locations and positioned at 120cm height. They make an overview of parts of the building possible. In the entrance areas there are additional site plans.
On Campus 2, room marking is consistent. Boards mounted on the wall state the room number and the room’s use. At seminar, meeting, and lecture rooms, ongoing and upcoming courses are shown on rather small digital screens.
Information and ongoing courses
The Infoboard offers an overview of all ongoing courses by stating the lecturer, the room number and the course’s duration. This overview is shown on big, centrally located screens. The information about ongoing courses is also available online.
There is wheelchair-accessible toilet in room 9.E.11; it is equipped with the basic accessories. The toilet is not locked.
Seminar and lecture rooms
Seminar and lecture rooms on Campus 2 are air-conditioned. In addition, digital and overhead projectors as well as stereo systems are available. Sockets for accessories and electronic devices are only available to a limited extent. The rooms are well lit, have daylight and the possibilities for dimming are sufficient. Lecture rooms are level and equipped with flexible seating; thus, there are no explicit wheelchair places. Rooms have one entrance and can be accessed via non-lockable, but automatically closing fire doors. Height-adjustable desks are partly available. The floor is made of linoleum.
Lecture room type 1
This type of lecture rooms is located on the ground level. Each is equipped with a headset and an infrared listening system for hearing impaired students is available. Speaker’s desks are not height-adjustable and are mounted at a height of approx. 75 cm. They can be driven under with a width of 120 cm. Rooms are equipped with height-adjustable boards which can be lowered to a height of approx. 30 cm.
Lecture room type 2
This type of lecture rooms is located on the ground level. Speaker’s desks are not height-adjustable and are mounted at a height of approx. 75 cm. They can be driven under with a width of 80 or 210 cm. Rooms are equipped with height-adjustable boards which can be lowered to a height of approx. 30 cm.
Seminar and meeting rooms
In addition to the lecture rooms, there is a meeting room on the ground level and two seminar rooms on Level 1. The equipment of these rooms varies and is adapted to the respective usage. Speaker’s desks are not height-adjustable and are mounted at a height of approx. 75 cm. They can be driven under with a width of 90 or 150 cm.
Type 1 lecture rooms are equipped with headsets and an acoustic system for hearing impaired students.
On Campus 2, there are 10 listening devices with integrated headphones available. Devices are stored in room 9.E.12 and are available on request from Facilities Management (HSGM). If there is no member of staff in the office, please contact them at the following telephone number 0931 3511-6206. Students are requested to notify lecturers and/or Facilities Management (HSGM) in time about a possible demand. Lecturers will then use a microphone, as otherwise transmission is not possible. Each room has a heavy fire door. These have neither opening nor locking mechanisms.
